In this talk for TEDxSeattle, Architect Rico Quirindongo walks us through various successful community-oriented design processes in the city districts that need them the most, with a particular focus on how architecture can shape community building and making, influencing people's prospects and outlook on life. Quirindongo's projects include large residential units complexes designed in cooperation with a local Community Land Trust chapter, especially focussing on the long-term benefits of long-neglected and segregated urban areas for the long-standing Black community in the neighbourhood.
